Day 1: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park. Travel time +5 hours
Early morning after your breakfast at your hotel, meet your guide, share a short briefing and drive heading to the western province, with an en route lunch on the way. You will visit King Palace and Ethnographic museums en route. Later proceed to your booked accommodation for dinner and overnight stay at Nyungwe Top View Hotel (L, D)
Day 2: Waterfall hike & Canopy walk at Nyungwe Forest National Park
Today, after your early morning the breakfast, you will leave your hotel to experience the natural forest of Nyungwe well known for having 13 species of primates, and transferred to the park for briefing and Isumo waterfall hike, which starts at 9 am, roughly 5.3 km and this hikes takes roughly 4 hours round trip, crossing a number of waterfalls and tea plantation. After doing the hike, head for lunch and after lunch, you will head for a canopy walk, on 60 meter suspended metallic bridge which gives you a wonderful scenic view of the forest and return in the afternoon for dinner and overnight stay. You will later return to your hotel for relaxing. Dinner and overnight stray at Nyungwe Top View Hotel (B, L, D)
Day 3: Chimpanzee trekking and tea Plantation tour
Today, after your early morning cap of African coffee, you will leave your hotel to experience the natural forest of Nyungwe well known for having 13 species of primates, and transferred to the park for briefing and chimpanzee trekking. You will be entitled to one hour on finding the chimpanzees. After doing the chimpanzee trek, you will transfer back to your lodge for lunch. After lunch you will drive and head for Gisakura tea estate tour, to learn more about tea farming and processing, later return in the afternoon for dinner and overnight stay at Nyungwe Top View Hotel (B, L, D)
Day 4: Imbaraga Trail hike
Today have breakfast at your lodge, and head out to hike, one of the longest trails in the forest known as Imbaraga trail. The trail is roughly 9.8 km, and takes roughly 6 hours round trip. You will head out with your packed lunch and water. You will later return in the afternoon, and transfer to your booked accommodation, spend the afternoon at leisure. Dinner and overnight stray at at Nyungwe Top View Hotel (B, L, D)
Day 5: Kamiranzovu swamp Trail hike and transfer back to Kigali
After having a relaxed morning breakfast, by 9 am, drive to the briefing point, meet your guide and head for this beautiful trail hike, which takes you along the swamp sector of the park, known for birdwatching and beautiful view points of the park. The trail is 5.9 km and takes roughly 3.5 hrs round trip. You will return and drive for lunch and later you will drive back to Kigali, with an en route lunch, and be dropped at your hotel in Kigali, or at Kigali airport, for your departure.
